Logica

Logica(CMG) is a major international force in IT services and wireless telecoms.
It provides management and IT consultancy, systems integration and outsourcing services to clients across diverse markets including telecoms, financial services, energy and utilities, industry, distribution and transport and the public sector.
 
After the merger of WM-data in October 2006, the company employs around 40,000 staff in offices across 41 countries and has nearly 40 years of experience in IT services. LogicaCMG provides management and IT consultancy, systems development and integration as well as outsourced management of targeted business processes. LogicaCMG creates and implements solutions for global clients that embrace the best technological solutions for tangible business results. LogicaCMG has a leading position in the northern Europe as a provider of ITC services in the ITS area.

Main tasks of participant:

The involvement of LogicaCMG is concentrated at the development of the pilot service as described in WP6. Besides this task, LogicaCMG can contribute to the design and creation of a Service Oriented Architecture based on existing products and experiences with road related projects.

Previous experience relevant to above tasks:

In CVIS LogicaCMG is part of the deployment sub project and has the specific task to create the business models and business case for cooperative systems in general and for CVIS in particular. Participating in ARMAS, LogicaCMG is developing software to improve the maintainability and reliability of the traffic data generation for traffic management applications. ARMAS is a European research project with the goal to educate relevant authorities and stakeholders in the potential of using EGNOS for applications in the road area (such as electronic tolling, traffic management).

As a result of AINO, LogicaCMG, Destia and FMI have launched together a commercial traffic and weather information service (LATIS) for drivers (www.varopalvelu.fi). AINO is a national research program for ITS solutions by the ministry of traffic and transportation.
 
Short profile of key staff members:

Cees de Wijs is the director and is primarily responsible for the ITS activities in LogicaCMG world-wide.

Erik Cornelisse is a project manager and specialized in developing Dynamic Traffic management systems for the Dutch Government.

Markku Luoto is a development director for mobile solutions in Finland and responsible for the LATIS traffic information service provisioning for Destia.

Marcel Konijn is a senior management consultant and has a broad experience to manage and lead European projects such as CVIS and Watch-Over. In the CVIS project Marcel sets up the Business Case for cooperative systems.

Contribution in ROADIDEA:
LogicaCMG will be together with Destia the main pilot creator and also takes part in other technical Work Packages.
